Longing

September 30th, 2009

Standing strong, tall, and proud
It amazes me, how far she’s come
Head held high, shoulders square
Far from the life we had run

I treated her poorly, I must admit
How she withstood me, I’m not sure
Yet there she is, moving on
While I still reach for her cure

If only the menacing hands of time
Could overturn ticking it’s done
Reversing the sorrow of ago
In an attempt to return her sun

Lost and alone in this world
My hearts longing for the past
The only love I have ever known
Too far now from my grasp

Wallowing in my misery
Attempting to be happy for her
Looking for my next life now
And another love that’s pure
